Flow: For Love of Water

So... I just watched a documentary called Flow: For Love of Water. Pretty eye-opening and i encourage you to check it out. Really makes you think twice about contributing to Bottled Water Companies. Educate yourself!

I see documentaries like this and I am reminded how easily i slip into living my life and not thinking about problems like these. It's devastating to see what these multinational companies are doing to the nations of our world. It's happening to everyone though...it's just more evident with the poor nations because they have no alternative. All this for the love of money... Geesh, it can be overwhelming to think about it, can't it?! It's easy to be complacent, but it's also easy to make little changes in our lives to encourage change. Here are some suggestions..

Yeah, we can march and write our congressperson or city leaders... and although these things are important and I encourage them... sadly the process and results aren't usually immediate.
so.... I think to at least get moving in the right direction and protect yourself and your family today or immediately... we need to think filtration. It's cheaper, cleaner, and less wasteful! Let's get off the $1-$4 a bottle habit we're in. (Plus, that water is usually just unfiltered tap water!)

Filtration for you home, Filtration on the go.

Filtration for your home...
When I'm home, I don't consume bottled water because we have deliciously pure well water, but when I lived in LA I used these filters for my showers, and on the kitchen tap. They made a world of difference! No more dangerous chlorine vapor in the shower and no more lugging/lifting 5 gal. water cooler bottles!

I didn't want to have to think about when I needed to change the filters, so I signed up for their Auto-Ship program and every 6 months they sent me new ones.
There are a number of different ways you can filter the water in your home.
Do a little of your own research and find what's the best for you.
At the very least filter your tap water with a filtered pitcher like this http://www.nextag.com/water-filter-pitcher/compare-html
you'll be drinking safer water and you'll save $$!

On the Go...
This is the major change I'm going to try.. On this next upcoming tour.. I'm going to try and not buy any bottled water. There are a number of different personal filtered water bottles on the market..
Here's a link to some i found..

They come in many variations and price ranges.. I think I'm going to try this bottle in the color Aqua.. http://www.purewater2go.com/bottles.html

I'm excited... aren't you!! :)
